When are ads and purchases eligible for reimbursement?
The Foodservice Co-op Advertising Program is offered two times each season. This opportunity is available from August 1, 2007 to December 31, 2007. Qualifying onion purchases may be made starting 10 days before co-op period through 10 days after the co-op period ends.

  • All ads must promote Idaho-Eastern Oregon onions.
  • The Idaho-Eastern Oregon Onion logo must be shown in its entirety. (Logo download)
  • The Idaho-Eastern Oregon Onion logo must be at least 5/8" tall.
  • Ads must be computer generated. Handwritten ads do not qualify.
How is the reimbursement calculated?
Your reimbursement is based on two elements: an ad reimbursement and a unit allowance. The reimbursements for your advertising are calculated as follows:

Promotional flyer runs 2 weeks
1-45 in sales force= $150
46-99 in sales force = $300
100+ in sales force = $500

Promotional flyer runs 4 weeks
1-45 in sales force= $300
46-99 in sales force = $500
100+ in sales force = $700

The unit allowance is $0.10 per 50 lb. bag/box for Idaho-Eastern Oregon onions purchased within the eligible dates (see above). The minimum qualifying purchase is 800 total units (one unit is a 50 lb. bag or box), with a maximum of 3,200 units eligible for reimbursement (the first 800 units will not be subtracted from the total).

Example:
A foodservice distributor with a sales force of 100 people runs a flyer promotion for 4 weeks ($700 ad reimbursement) and provides invoices for 3,200 50 lb. bags/boxes (3,200 units X $0.10 = $320). Therefore, the total co-op reimbursement amounts to ($700 + $320) $1020.
